PostMark is proud of its balance of security to meet its clients’ needs and requirements without reducing the flexibility clients have come to expect from PostMark. Security means a number of very different things to different clients and PostMark provides the appropriate security. From its inception PostMark has recognized its fiduciary responsibility to protect its clients’ data. A client’s data is just that, the property of the client. A client’s mailing list and data is never to be used in anyway except as directed by the client.
For some clients, security is related to the preservation of data and for those clients, PostMark has an automated archival and backup system that will allow the retrieval of data from the past. For other clients, the concern is the assurance that their data is not retained after the completion of the project. PostMark’s archival system provides the ability to exclude a client’s data from long term storage, giving them the assurances that can certify compliance with legal or other restrictions for the retention of data. For still other clients, security is more related to the proper handling of their projects. For these clients, PostMark instituted specialized audit, data verification, and quality procedures to match the client needs.
PostMark provides a number of secure data transmission capabilities that range from simple password protection to secure ftp sites and encrypted transmissions. PostMark’s facilities provide a secure environment with appropriate physical and electronic access control. PostMark can not share specifics of the security measures for it clients, but PostMark is always ready to adapt its procedures to match the specific requirements a client may have.
PostMark's clients can rest easy regarding the confidentiality of their plans and mailing list. PostMark has always recognized that a mailing list is the property of the client and that it has a fiduciary responsibility to protect its client’s data as if it were its own. Unfortunately, not all in the industry follow such an ethical approach, but PostMark's clients need not worry about their valuable list being used in any way other than as they direct.
